FreeNAS 11 Jail: Plex not showing new media

So I had the exact same issue and was able to fix it following the guidence of changing the owner and group to plex. The downside of this, is that I can no longer access that same drive over my FreeNAS SMB Share. Anyone know why that might be? I thought the permissions inside the jail would not affect the actual FreeNAS bay that I allow over SMB?

It could be some weird syncing issue between the users/groups in FreeNAS and those inside the Jail of Plex. But I’m a little lost on how to properly sync them.

This is super and I’m pleased that @kmccmk9_gmail_com was able to make this work… And apologies for the stupid question … How do I do this?

Because I’ve changed the owner in the Jail > Edit > Custom section. But I’m not sure how I can edit the owner and group. Could you shed some light on this?

Now I have nothing but time to work on this…!

This worked for me, like a treat! I had to elaborate on the security permissions afterwards, but this solves the problem!!!
