Frequent buffering, audio/video dropouts using HD Homerun Flex 4k on NVidia Shield

This is happening on all channels both HD and SD. Signal strength is between 85% and 100% on most of them. All play back perfectly on the HD Homerun app and any other software I try.

This happens frequently enough that I really find the Plex not usable. Not exactly getting the greatest bang for my buck with the lifetime Plexpass.

Except for this issue, I just love the way Plex operates with local TV.

I’m sure this must be an adjustment somewhere. Would someone please steer me in the right direction as to the exact steps I need to take to rectify this once and for all.

Try using a different client. The Android build is FUBAR.

I use the Roku app with no real issues. I used to use the Firestick which uses the same client as the Shield but it’s no good.

For me this isn’t behaving any better on Windows 10 on a higher end PC. It actually runs even worse on Windows. Would anyone from Plex like to chime in please?

Just posting to bump. I have this exact issue. 5.1 surround will drop off several times during, despite incredibly solid reception to the channel. Frustrating. Same hardware, shield, hdhomerun…

Switch to ChannelsDVR for livetv. It’s not perfect, but it works most of the time and they actually respond to support requests in the forums.

Plex isn’t interested in making LiveTV DVR work anymore.

Are you using subtitles? In Plex for Windows the current version struggles to keep the Video synced up with the audio/subtitles.

@shawntempesta_gmail_com , @phbellefleur Thanks so much for chiming in. Nice to know I’m not the only one.

Channels DVR does work really well, but will not work with IPTV. Emby does.

I am totally blown away by the total lack of response on the part of Plex. Biggest waste of $115.00 I ever made.
