FRESH Windows & Plex install- Your changes could not be saved

This is a brand new fresh Windows 10 Pro install, with a fresh Plex Server install. Media files play without issue in VLC, and permissions for all video folders and files are set to “Full” for “Everyone”.

Every attempt to create a library using these videos results in “Your changes could not be saved.”. I’ve tried the web hosted app and local hosted app- same result.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Plex server, tried three different browsers (Chrome, Edge and Firefox), and have cleared all browser cache. The issue persists.

I’m using a Lifetime Plex Pass account- any suggestions?

Ran into this a few days ago while testing some stuff out.

See → "Your changes could not be saved" when trying to Add Media Library - #2 by SwiftPanda16 which solved the problem for me.

It seems to me that plex needs to be restarted AFTER the initial setup but BEFORE you add any libraries.

Thanks so much Dokuro!!! You’re awesome- All I had to do was exit and restart Plex server, and it works now.
