Hello all
I’ve just finished ripping all my Friends DVDs to add to my collection. I’ve labelled up the directories/episodes as per the guide here which has worked perfectly for seasons 1-10
The problem I have is with the “specials”. Neither IMDB nor TVDB list them, however, TMDB have them listed here.
I have the following directory/file layout:
/Friends {tmdb-1668}
/Season 0
Friends (1994) - s00e22 - Gunther Spills the Beans about Season 6.mkv
Friends (1994) - s00e23 - The One that Goes Behind the Scenes.mkv
...
This seems to semi-work as Plex creates a “Specials” season and adds some artwork for it:
However, when I go into the “Specials” season, it does not have any of the metadata that is shown on TMDB:
I tried adding a
.plexmatch
file (and doing the “Plex dance”) to see if it made a difference, but it does not. The .plexmatch
file is:
Title: Friends
Season: 0
tmdbid: 1668
ep: SP22: Friends (1994) - s00e22 - Gunther Spills the Beans about Season 6.mkv
I have also tried various combinations of applying or not applying {tmdb-1668}
in the directory/filenames and performing the “Plex dance”, which has also been unsuccessful.
I feel like I’ve exhausted all of my options short of manually filling out the metadata for each of the special episodes. There are only 21 episodes, but it would be nice if Plex just used the TMDB data!
Does anybody have any ideas of anything that I’ve missed, or is this some kind of bug with Plex and/or TMDB’s API?
Any help would be gratefully received.
