Hi, I have a problem that my friends whom I share videos on my server do not have a download button in their browser despite selecting the “allow downloads” option. The server does not have a plex pass.
This “Download” only works for the server owner.
Plex is not a platform for distributing media files.
The “Download” permission, which you can grant in the sharing settings to certain users are meant for the client types which support Sync/Download.
These client types are currently:
- Plex for Windows/Mac
- Plex for Android mobile
- Plex for iOS (i.e. Apple phones and tablets)
The web app is not included in this list.
