Fstab problem for Synology SMB mount (cifs)

Server Version#:1.18.3.2156
Player Version#:

Helping out a friend with his server, I setup the fstab to mount the remote share, but it isn’t visible to PMS unless I su nautilus and click the share, after that everything can use it. I’m guessing I missed something, as it works fine on my nearly duplicate setup.

fstab line:
//xx.xx.xx.xx/Plex /media/PlexMedia/ cifs auto,defaults,nofail,credentials=/etc/plex.cred,uid=plex 0 0

scratching my head on this one
CentOS 8, up to date, no customization. I copied the setup from my Fedora server that works great

Does that Synology system have a user account matching the creds and does that account have appropriate share access?

Also, get it out of /media. Nautilus owns /media .

Please give a read here.

It was likely Nautilus. I re-did him up with Fedora already. I’m going to make a test machine with CentOS and try with a new alternative to /media. Doesn’t hurt to learn and find out why something went wrong to begin with. Thanks, you are always a great help!
