Full Screen in Plex Web Interface player

Is there a setting in the Plex Web Interface that I should be aware of? Videos play at about 3/4 full screen on my HDMI-connected TV. But then clicking to expand to full screen freezes everything.

Other sites viewed in the Chrome 75 browser like YouTube have no problem expanding to full screen. The same sites viewed in the Plex Web Interface, again on Chrome 75 but macOS, also have no problem expanding to full screen.

The Android Plex Client viewing the same videos and other apps like Haystack TV all display full screen on the TV.

The setup is a regular Android 6.0.1 box connected with wired Ethernet to a Plex 1.16.2.1297 server on Ubuntu (server) 18.04.2. No WiFi.

Have you considered using the native Plex client for your android box?

“The Android Plex Client viewing the same videos and other apps like Haystack TV all display full screen on the TV.”

Why are you trying to use Plex Web via a browser in the first place if the native Plex for Android app works fine?

Thanks for your replies @Flanders. You’re absolutely right, the Plex Client has been the go-to since getting it setup with the network and server. (The Linux server and its setup was a SSH command line challenge.)

The Plex Web Interface question was somewhat out of curiosity. I did have a bout of problems with the Client and “connection too slow” dialogs. Then found the web interface would work with the same source just as long as the window was not expanded to full screen.

So I wonder why.
