When I click on the green button on the Plex window to enable full screen mode on my 14" MacBook Pro with M3 Max (macOS Sonoma 14.1.1) the Menu Bar remains active at the top of the window. The background of the menu bar turns black, but the text and other menu bar icons remain visible.

Is this expected behavior? I would expect it to hide the menu bar as other apps do.

Thanks for any assistance that you can provide!

I’ve just tested this… on my iMac, the menu bar will only show if I move the mouse to the top of the screen – same as with other apps.

I have the same issue. See attached screen shot.
Thing to note is that the menu bar is in fact changing from white to dark mode when going full screen. Just not disappearing.
I’ve tried updating the app manually (it was stuck on “Checking for updates”.).

On 14" MacBook Pro M1 (macOS Sonoma 14.1.1)

Here it’s not gone while using Plex for macOS.

Here it is gone while using https://app.plex.tv/desktop in Firefox 121.0.

Any other users with MacBook Pro’s and the Plex for Max app. Same or working?

Plex likely uses the the NSApplicationPresentationOptions with the NSApplication.shared.presentationOptions property. With the .hideMenuBar option set to true.

This doesn’t work on our devices but I can’t tell why.
