We have wonderful sorting sections that are auto generated yet have no distinct icons, so in most clients you end up with lots of repeating empty boxes. Here is what I propose:
1. For collections the server should trans-code the cover art for the first 3 movies in the collection and make them look like DVD cases or folders. Windows 7 and higher do this for images, the information is already in the system it is just a matter of on the fly rendering the new combined icon/poster.

2. Standard Icons for common Genre types should be included.... Probably can find a complete royalty free set easy.

3. This should be dead simple to do.. Just render a specific Font in a large size to an image on a standard background... The libraries included with plex probably can already do this.
I think that the by letter section bugs me the most on the Roku
Note this is a separate request from the ability to Edit our own icons for Library sections, I am purely requesting that the Plex team fill in these seemingly blank but global icons.

Ummm "Lazybones" is the key..... can be done yourself. Expecting the plex team to do everything for people is asking a bit much. They already ****GIVE**** us this wonderful piece of software. Create your own sections, customize and maintain them yourself........ Just my opinion of course.

You ether didn't read or didn't understand the request. It is specifically for icons that I as a user currently have no control over and for sections plex already generates as part of the sorting functions.
Edit: You may not know what I am talking about if you have a small library and do not use a Roku or DLNA (WDTV,Xbox360,PS3) as a client that shows an icon for everything.

Now how the french toast did you change your icons? I see nothing clickable in PlexWeb and I see nothing in the wiki about it... :(

I didn't I just edited a screen shot to make a point that these default icons could be better on a roku.
It is possible to change the library section icons however by directly editing the database, but the plex team has indicated they plan on letting us edit those in the future.
Edited the first post since the fake screen shots make the point much better…
I am not asking for users to be able to edit these per say, these sections are auto generated and I think that the plex team could also auto generate very useful default images.
