With over 200 Genre filters it defeats the purpose of having genres or filters.
When browsing by music Genre there is an overwhelming plethora of Genre even though I classified and tagged all my music files with one of only 33 genre. I don't know if Plex is assigning multiple genre to songs and or just miss-labeling the songs, but I am seeing associations I never tagged.
There are about 180 genre in the browser filter that were not in the file tags. Some are quite silly: "Beautiful", or poorly associated: Brahms as "Asian" music because it was performed by a Japanese. At least until the metadata agents improve and whittle down the genre choices, I would like to see only the Genre that were in the file tags or were added to the database from internet metadata sources only because a Genre tag was missing in the song file.
Alternatively, I could abide having 2 or even 3 genre associated with a song as long as one of them is the genre in the file tag. But then genre that are represented in the file tags should be highlighted or grouped together somehow.

Hello DGE, I have the same problem than you. I have carefully organized my music with few genres and but with Plex I've got 200+ genres that are obviously not usable. Have you find a solution to avoid that plex add un-necessary genre?
