Get spinning wheel when try to play media on Mac, QNAP, Synology

Mac Studio 15.3.1

Trying to play some .mkv rips all I get is a spinning wheel. The files play with no problem in Infuse. The same files fail to play on MAC, QNAP and Synology. Other .mkv rips play with no problems on the 3 platforms.

Not sure which log files to provide. This is a fairly recent problem.
