Server Version#: 1.15.8.1198
Player Version#: 5.17.1
I’m running Plex server on a TerraMaster NAS drive. It’s been working perfectly, recording live TV etc. Suddenly today I got an error message when I try to access live tv ’ Live TV requires Plex Media Server to be updated to 1.16.1 or above’ . I logged into my NAS expecting an update. There was, but it only updated to 1.15.8.1198, so I cannot update my Plex server to match the minimum requirements for Live TV all of a sudden, when last week it was all fine? I paid for a years plex pass to be able to use Live TV and now I can’t? Any ideas??
Im having the exact same issue.
2 additional things are worrying about this:
- Did you not get the email regarding the update requirements?
- That message should have arrived last month as the update needed to be installed by 1-July. I am guessing that your “old” EPG ran out today.
Can you perform a manual update (sorry, but I am QNAP, not TerraMaster)?
J.
Yes, received the email, but apparently Terramaster still has not released the latest update for Plex. As far as I know, the only way to update the Plex server is through the Terramaster interface, however there is no update yet available there for the newest Plex server. So in the mean time, no live TV or DVR.
Ugh - sorry to hear that.
Can you set* up* a temporary server on your PC?

I emailed TerraMaster and this was the rather unhelpful response. Polite enough though.
“ Sorry for the problem.
What your TOS version and Plex version in TerraMaster NAS?
And we maintain it all the time, so please do not worry.”
I pointed out that they are the last service to update the software so they must have been holding onto it for a few weeks. No response.
I don’t remember getting the email. I may have done and overlooked it. So it was a huge surprise when it suddenly stopped working.
Just had a reply from TerraMaster this morning. Seems they’ve now published the update. I’m at work so haven’t checked yet.
“Good morning!
You can go to the applications, update the Plex now. It is the latest version now.
If still have any problem, please let us know.
Have a nice day!”
2 weeks too late, but better late than never, I guess.
Good luck!
They just followed up with:
“And please do not worry about the maintenance in the future, as once have new version, we will test it first, then update it in applications store.”
Hmmm. I get the feeling I’ll be chasing them for every update.
I updated it remotely - I can access my NAS ok from work - but now I can’t seem to access the updated Plex at all! I’m getting an error message saying I don’t have permission. Odd. I’ll have to look at it more closely when I get home tonight.
