Everything was working find until a couple of days ago. I was adding a new movie to my library and I started getting this error message when I tried to update the Poster. Now I can make any changes to the library at all.
I did find other discussions on this but non of them helped me. I tried to make sure I used the IP address both internal and external. I tried different broswers, Update Plex server to the latest version running on my Synology NAS.
The only thing I changed recently was I added a new library. I had 2 libraries (DVD & Bluray) and I created a third library that pointed to both folders so I could have a consolidated listing of all my movies. That seemed to work, at least for a couple of days.
I can’t make any changes to the system and its not adding new videos to the libraries. It appears that last time that it added new movies was the day that I created the combined library (DVD & Bluray). So I tried to delete this new library (All Movies) to see if it will fix the problem but I can’t may any changes to Plex. I got the following error “There was a problem deleting the library.”
The current movies will play fine so it looks like only Plex is frozen as far as managing the Plex system.
I also forgot to mentioned that I also stopped and started the Plex software on my Synology NAS to see if there was a problem there.
I solved my problem. It appears that my database was corrupt. Luckily I have the Plex Pass so it was making a backup of my database every 3 days. I went back to the backup before I noticed the problem and restored the database. Everything seems to be working fine now.
Hey wb001 - since the update, I’ve also had this problem too. Can you tell me how you determined that the database was corrupted? If you happened to run across any “how to restore the database from a backup”, that would be great to know, too.
