Keep getting "Your changes could not be saved."

Server Version#: 4.30.2
Player Version#: 1.16.0.1364-da192ff7
I cannot add new movies nor change data in my database. I get the “Your changes could not be saved.” message. I checked the permissions on the Appdata/Local/Plex Media Server and it has all permissions. So is there a way to repair the database and exactly which file/files is the database.Plex Media Server Databases_2018-07-11_15-15-16.zip (22 Bytes) Plex Media Server Logs_2020-08-03_16-55-58.zip (7.6 MB)

I’m also having the same problem. I cannot add a new Photo Library. I get the same error message: YOUR CHANGES COULD NOT BE SAVED. I just purchased the LifeTime Pass and it’s frustrating I can’t fix library issues. This is the tip problem. I have tried every trick I know. Thanks…

I found “Repair a Corrupt Database” (https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/). I followed the instructions and ran it on the two versions of the database that I found, one in Appdata/Plex Server and also in Appdata/Plex/Plex Server. The one in Plex/Plex Server has current dates and so I assume it is the correct one, the other has 2018 dates. The original database is about 1/4 of the size of the new repaired one. I ran Plex and it still is locked. Any ideas?

Added the log files to the original post. Can someone look and see if they see anything strange that might be the problem? I attempted to use the “Download Database”, but it came up with an empty zip file.

Turn off Verbose logging, leave Debug. Restart your server, wait a few minutes and grab another set of logs, however from your previous logs:

The database corruption was caused when I grabbed a backup db file from 7/13, saved it as the current database and attempted to run sqlite3 on it. The first time it did say that the database was corrupted. I recopied and ran the procedure again without error. So the database is not corrupted, as far as I know. I was able to complete the corrupted database procedure. I did notice that the original was about 300 kb and the backup was around 50,000 kb. Either database shows the same problem of not allowing any update to the data or add movies.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-08-04_02-53-35.zip (5.1 MB)

I also zipped the basic database files, if it helps.com.plexapp.plugins.library.zip (12.6 MB)

Logs are still in VERBOSE mode and show database errors.

The server I am using is for the Netgear R9000 Current Plex version: 1.19.4.2935-79e214ead Jan 14, 2020. For Debug, it only has Disable, Enable, and Verbose as options, not the checkboxes shown in the example you sent me. I selected Enable. But apparently it still spits out Verbose? Personally my gut instinct is that my issues are with the latest releases of this server version, but I do not know how to roll back the server version since it is within the R9000 router. I would be glad to try recreating new logs, but do not know if I should use Enable or not. Any suggestions?

I would try enable with a restart, then down load the logs and see if all the VERBOSE lines are gone from the current ‘Plex Media Server.log’.

How are you doing the database repair? Unless you have watch history to save it would probably be easier to shut down plex, delete the db files and start over.

I have solved this issue and want to thank Tiebierius for all his or her help. I did not want to have to rebuild my entire database and save that for my last resort. I factory reset my router, disabled Plex on the router and then removed all Plex programs from my laptop. I had an old Plex server and Plex player on my laptop and wanted to start from scratch with all Plex programs. I fortunately had multiple backup databases from a couple of weeks ago. I attempted to repair a couple of backups without success and then found one that worked. I went through the Repair a Corrupt Database https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/ on the db file I found at M:\Library\Application Support\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases which is my location for Plex backups. I actually copied the file to my C: drive in a temp directory and copied the sqlite3 to that directory to make the running commands easier and then copied it back to allow Plex to use. I then restarted my routed and selected to install and enable Plex. Although the data was a couple of weeks old, it found my new stuff and now allows edits as it should. I have over 1100 movies and did not want to have to reorganize and search for all those movies. Make sure you have backups! I hope this helps someone as it took a week of my life.
