But then Media won’t be deleted from the library if it has been removed. I want media to be removed from my library if it has been removed from the file system.
The idea is to perform a library scan before the trash is emptied.
That way it won’t oust items which haven’t been actually removed, but which were marked as trashed, just because the hard drive or NAS where they are stored on reacted too slow on occasion.
After the library scan, you can empty the trash manually. i.e. when you are sure that the library scan has been performed while all media drives were actually online and spun up.
Empty trash automatically after every scan seems unrelated to new movies added notifications for movies already in my library. Can you explain how the two are related?
