hrcolb0, I just wanted to say that, it seems the majority don’t appreciate your attitude to helping with development, but I’m with you on this one. Not in an attempt to kick the flaming off again, but because projects need enthusiastic developers, and it seems you want to be one.
Hopefully you’ll get the eyetv work out there into the public soon, it’s a pretty major element to making plex the centre of the living room.
Thanks to Plex developers for creating such amazing software, and to all the developers helping to make it an even better experience! Can’t wait to see 0.9 and drop Boxee for good!
Is there a SVN Repo available that I could check out the current Plex9 source and do my own compile?
I would definitely be interested in doing some bug fixes of my own and try to get things to run under an AppleTV if at all possible.
I understand that the AppleTV runs 10.4.6 and is currently unsupported as a whole… still doesn’t mean that I am not interested in trying to get things running on that side of the fence.
After all, Netflix and Hulu can now be made to run nice and smoothly under the base hardware with a little bit of effort.

That would be a 10.4.7 variant. While it's 10.4, there are some 10.5 bits included. Target 10.4 SDK and you will be fine. Also if you want a macports suitable for building, check out http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-port-depends/
Didnt see an answer to this so I’ll ask it here (though I’m so exited I can have missed 100 threads about it lol) but:
Besides rescanning the liberary (ie. do it from scratch I presume) is there something else I can do to prepare for the mighty 9.0?
Rename some movies or put all .srt files in one folder or maybee put movie+sub+trailer in a folder and naming the folder!!??
I just need something to do before the 1st of sep
regards
very VERY happy Snake !!!

Nah, just take a deep breath instead
lol
Boxee updates… Plex still doesn’t care. So now that boxee is much more stable are we actually going to see a release? Plex 9 has been teased to us for almost half a year if not more it feels like
Checked the blog recently? Or Facebook? Or Twitter? Or the shoutbox? If you had, you'd see that a release date has been announced ;)
When implementing that, please add some kind of feature to automate this. I have custom posters for about 300 movies and it would spare me a lot of time to add them again. I'm thinking some kind of auto recognition like with subtitles.
Since Jayman made that post, we've added support for local posters.
Three cheers for exceeding expectations :)
Wow great news! Thanks for making my day:)
I have read through this and countless other threads looking to see if a long hoped for feature would make it into plex .9. It was alluded to earlier in this thread but I wanted to get some clarification.
Let me first describe my perfect meta data universe:
Ability to choose which meta data categories to display in the interface (Ratings/Title/Plot/Cast/Director/Resolution/Duration/Posters/Covers/etc…) - This may need some skinning support?
Once the meta data fields are selected, the ability to choose which source for **EACH **category. For example: I want Rotten Tomato Ratings, IMDB titles, plots, and cast, and Themoviedb for the posters.
So now that I have described my perfect ecosystem, how close is plex 0.9 to that reality? It seems like it is heading in that direction:)
Thanks again devs.
PTP
… will the newly developed player be included in Plex .9.0?
Cheers,
Chris
How will or how should TV shows on DVDs (VIDEO_TS Folders) behave in plex .9 for those unwilling to spend the time to rip each .vob?
Thanks,
What's this rottentomatoes tweak you are referring to (in plex 0.9)? I'd like to use that for movies instead of imdb but I can't figure out how to trigger / configure its usage.
Thanks.
I just looked at the IMDB scanner(?) andI did not see a Rotten tomatoes agent(?) I think this is one of those soon to be done’s since it was mentioned before release, or someone can code up an agent to grab metadata to plug into the IMDB thingy.
Support for Rotten Tomatoes will be added soon, once we update Plex Online to support distribution of agents as well as content plug-ins.
