Ghost server 'iPhone' persists on Shield TV but not in Authorized Devices

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10467
Player Version#: 10.30.8.4222

Hi,

I’m having an issue with a ghost server named ‘iPhone’ that keeps appearing on my Nvidia Shield TV.

I have already tried the following:

  1. Checked ‘Authorized Devices’ (with the ‘Server’ filter applied) on plex.tv, but ‘iPhone’ is NOT listed there.

  2. Factory reset my Shield TV and reinstalled the Plex app.

  3. Cleared cache and data multiple times.

Despite these steps, the ‘iPhone’ server still shows up in the server list on my Shield. It seems to be stuck in my account backend.

Could a Plex team member please manually purge/remove this ‘iPhone’ server from my account database?

Thank you!

Do you still use an iPhone? And if so, does it have the legacy Plex app installed on it?

Yes, I am using an iPhone 13 (Model: iPhone14,5).

As shown in the attached screenshot, I have the latest Plex app (Client Version: 2026.3.0) installed. It is definitely not a legacy version.

I have also checked the settings, and no server-related features are enabled on this device. The “iPhone” server entry appearing on my Shield TV seems to be a ghost record that doesn’t exist in my actual device list.

Could you please help me clear this stale entry from my account?

There is no server named “iPhone” in your account to delete.

What happens after you

  1. sign out from your plex user account on the iPhone
  2. delete the Plex app on the iPhone
  3. reboot the iPhone
  4. install the Plex app again on the iPhone and sign into your Plex user account

?

Another idea: Are you actually using the server part of the Shield Plex app? You seem to have at least 2 other Plex servers, so I wonder why the Shield server is still operating.
If running the server on the Shield is indeed intentional, try accessing its settings (using the web app). Clear the checkbox in
Settings - [server name] - Network - Enable local network discovery (GDM)
