Server been added to my system, removed unwanted server but keeps coming back

Server Version#: 1.22.0.4136
Windows 10 system

Hi guys,

I’m having a issue with my Plex Media Server.
A friend of mine has added his nVidia shield as a additional server to my plex account.
This device has since died and for unknown reasons when i try to remove the nVidia server from my Plex Media Account it disappears and then re-appears again a few hours later.

I cannot get rid of it.

Is there anyway i can permanently remove this server from my account .
I’ve tried so many things going into settings then selecting the SHIELD Android TV and selecting remove server but then a few hours later its back in there again.

Really appreciate some ideas or assistance on this one.

Cheers

Mark

If this device comes back, it means the server on it is still running, if only for a few minutes.

He’s told me he has discarded it thrown it away.
But I’m suspecting someone has taken it and managed to get it working and my account is still linked to it.

Is there no other way to unlink it from my account if we cannot access it anymore?

You have no other Shield device in your account?
If not, I can try something.

No i don’t my Plex Media Server is running on Windows 10 system.
At the moment the SHIELD Device is no longer present since i clicked removed but i suspect it will re-appear in an hour’s time on my account…

it appears it polls my account then decides to show itself.

I made the device’s login token invalid and made sure it cannot be revived.
Should it appear again, please ping me in this thread.

Thanks for your assistance.

I have the same issue with 1 zombie server that won’t die. Please help.

All shared servers in your account are still alive and well. Which is the zombie?

Checked it again

This one:. NVIDIA M-DROID …

There once was such a server, but it is not signed in to your account anymore.
Which only leaves 2 possible explanations:

  1. the device is still present in your local home network and the server on it is indeed started from time to time
  2. the server has been selected in the past as “default server” on one of your clients. You might want to reset this client:

I’m on the Shield TV device.
Yeah, I’ve done that. Then I get 3 instances of unavailable " SHIELD ANDROID TV " servers on the web, which I remove from the web client, but they keep coming back. Can you remove them if they pop up again?

That means that these Shield devices are still active in your local network and the Plex server app on them is still there.
Find every single Shield device in your home,
open the Plex app on them
go into the preferences and disable their inbuilt Plex server.

How to do it? I only have 2 Shields,

Find every single Shield device in your home,
open the Plex app on them
go into the preferences of the Plex app and disable their inbuilt Plex server.

@OttoKerner
How do that? Disable the PMS?

Have you never opened the preferences menu of the Plex app on the Shield?

Settings menu yes
