Giant subtitles

Earlier I noticed that the sutitles on my laptop were giant. No exxageration. They were yuge!

Subtitles aren't changing size regardless if I select tiny or huge

When I opened to take the screenshot now they are still larger than I expect them to be but not as huge as they were earlier. I don’t know if it helps, this particular file is in an MKV container and internal SRT subtitles.

The trouble is that it isn’t reproducible. Some files are behaving as normal… but others are unusable. At one point it was taking up a got 30%-40% of the screen in 2 or 3 lines.

Edit: Now watching something else… it has gone to the actual Yuge! size again…

This is a screenshot of the subtitles I got. Even after attempting to change to Tiny it remains at this size

Some subtitles will switch to the size I selected and others remain like this. This file, like the last one, is an mkv container with internal srt subtitles. The window is maximized but not full screen on a 1080p monitor so that is taking up 100% of the screen with subtitles and clearly unusable. (In case someone checks the dimensions on the screenshot… why would you do that? - anyway I didn’t include anything below the progress bar, the buttons/icons on the left and the bar at the top.)

Have you tried to extract the SRT streams and opened them in a text editor or perhaps a subtitle editor?
There are plenty of SRT subs floating around on the interwebs which contain formatting tags.

Also worth a check is whether the size of the subs in Plex changes if you go from full screen to windowed and back.
