those changes currently only work on the newest IOS versions, so would currently break compatibility with users on older systems.

Considering PlexConnect works on non-jailbroken devices, I do not think it should be much of a priority for the amazing developers to worry about legacy firmware support. Just my opinion.

Agreed, it should be developed for new software, not outdated…either update and enjoy PlexConnect, or enjoy the jailbroken app on older firmware.
I’ve already asked about this, too, and given the fact that there is now a poll asking what version users are using, that must mean they are getting ready to merge very soon, at least I would think

if you want the "Elan" fork, then just install it.
