Adding a Volume slider that would go up to 200% that would boost audio even without transcoding would be an amazing feature. I always have problems with sound not being loud enough and Plex’s volume boost does not work. If it would behave the same as slider in VLC and would affect the sound output directly it would work perfectly.
I would vote for client-side as well!
I created this over 3 years ago and despite the overwhelmingly positive community feedback, nothing has been done. I’m pretty sure the people at Plex dgaf.
+1. There’s a new Enhance Dialogue feature on tvOS that could also be enabled on the Apple TV plex app.
Please give us the ability to boost audio. Server side. Some of my users arent tech savvy.
Although it would have benefits if the server would analyse the level and loudness of the audio track(s) in advance.
It would enable the client to do a better job at raising the volume without the need to employ a limiter/compressor, which always have some sonic side effects. Particularly when there is music involved. (concert movie, musician biografies etc.)
I’m hard of hearing so this would be AMAZING for me! PLEASE upvote.
Audio volume has always been an issue with movies and series. Its always been too low.
Volume boost resolve this issue. Lots of 3rd party players has this feature. Would be nice to have either as part of the app or as an add-on.
Currently as a workaround I am using Voicemeter and output Plex media Player to a channel that are boosted by 10db. Not the best solution.
We desperately need a way for the media server to analyze audio tracks of video files and for clients to adjust playback volume accordingly.
Having to change my TV volume between series/episodes is annoying.
