I stopped using Plex after several months and I’m back again to find out the topic I created for this issue got closed automatically but Plex developers still haven’t resolved it:
To verify the functionality of this, I added one TV show with two files, one file is from the “Specials” season, it is the S00E01, aired on december 12th 2002, the other file is from the first season, it is the S01E01, aired on september 16th 2002.
When I hit the global “PLAY” button on Plex Web, playback starts with the S01E01 file because it was aired before the one in the “Specials” season:
However, on every other Plex app, the global “PLAY” button starts playback with whatever it finds first, (it starts playback with the S00E01), so it doesn’t take into account the aired date of episodes.
Please Plex developers, you need to implement this on every single Plex app of every platform.
