Server Version#: 1.19.2.2737
Player Version# 8.0.0.17276:
(Note that this item has had a major rewrite after I discovered the problem was more general that I’d first thought)
In the latest version, Settings now has its own menu item at the bottom of the left pullout menu. This is a change from when you accessed Settings from the Server menu (which was not very intuitive).
Now, after I’ve selected a play item and arrive on the item’s main screen (i.e. the screen where you can play, mark as played, etc), I can still access the left pullout menu – but Settings isn’t there anymore.
This is not intuitive at all because I have to go back to the home screen to access settings. In the past, I could even access Settings from the Server menu while a video was still playing in a minimized window in the lower right. Now, I can’t access Settings at all from a play item’s main screen.
I expect this is a bug as it doesn’t really make sense that you would have done this on purpose.
With all the problems with the Android app for the past four months, I found it useful that I could inspect all the settings while still being able to play the video in a small window. Now, I can’t do that. This was important to me because once you got a video to play, you didn’t want to stop it because you might be get the dreaded “Error … Please restart app and server …” message 10 or 20 times before you could get the player to start again.
