I’m with you on this @nickewi
Not really, plenty of people have switched and are happy. Again, if YOU are not happy with it, that’s fine, enjoy Plex. Different strokes for different folks.
And if you do want Emby to “fix” this (give you the option to automatically group all versions), go on their forums and write a feature request.
Why ask for a feature you want when it’s easier to complain it isn’t there?
To be fair, he’s used to Plex where a feature request isn’t worth much unless there’s a 1000+ upvotes.
You had me rolling at 1000, hahaha. much more than that is required!
I do not see sense in you wasting the time of PLEX team members if you are truly leaving. Make a decision and move forward.
How are these posts wasting the Plex team members’ time? You think they read every post in the forums? Man! No wonder they haven’t had the time to take care of so many bugs that have gone unfixed for years!
But seriously, don’t worry about whether the Plex team spends time reading useless posts. I’m sure they are at least smart enough to know where to focus their attention. If they decide to spend time on this particular thread then I’m sure they believe it’ll result in some benefit to them… otherwise they’ll ignore it altogether.

You have no idea how many people are reading this thread, and one reason for doing that is to learn users needs and problems!
I personally, as a moderator, are following this thread, simply due to the title, since a title like that tends to attract people, that from time to time needs moderation, in order to keep this a friendly place
@dane22, please don’t cherry pick portions of my statement. It kind of takes it out of context. That particular sentence was followed by:

If they decide to spend time on this particular thread then I’m sure they believe it’ll result in some benefit to them… otherwise they’ll ignore it altogether.
Which is exactly what you are saying.
Maybe it was not your intention to take it out of context. But when I read that sentence on its own, it sounds like I mean something other than what I intended.

Sorry, but…
IMHO, this thread is a waste of time
, but allowed, since Plex doesn’t censor threads, unless in violation with the rules, and as a Ninja, I can’t ignore this thread, due to moderation
And above is my personal opinion, and not related to Plex, since I’m not Plex!
Oh my!
sigh
Let’s all take a deep breath now.

Let’s all take a deep breath now.
I 4 one will for sure, since bed time here
A thread like this while sounding negative, is very good feedback to see what type of features are so important that by not having them causes people to jump ship.
This type of feedback is used in the balancing act to know how important certain things are to users. Unlike app store reviews, these are people who have been using Plex for quite a while but find it’s slowly not meeting their needs anymore.
This thread answer the why.
It’s ok to be honest, but don’t make it personal or nasty. Plex is a business after all and humans work there and don’t need abuse.
Sometimes these threads are just started with malicious intent and it goes downhill form there. Some people just can’t communicate without anger.
When you don’t like a restaurant, you don’t stand outside the restaurant yelling at them to make their food better, you just go to another restaurant.
And possibly post a bad review to yelp and opentable among others. Perhaps write a letter to their corporate headquarters.
I don’t think the analogy applies all that well. Has anyone stood outside Plex’s offices and yell they make a better product?
In both cases most people go online and log complaints. The difference being that restaurants usually don’t have forums, so you go to Yelp, opentable, etc.

Disagree. All the ‘leaving because…’ threads serve a purpose: community review and rating of a product.
The same way user reviews on Steam hold weight.
And, FWIW, the community and Company reaction in said threads will serve as a litmus test for any passers by who are considering Plex.
That’s the thing about analogies, they can be whatever you want them to be…
I just recently upgrade to lifetime pass and I both deeply regret this and feel scammed. Actually the product got much worse after I paid for it.
I switched from Kodi to Plex because it used to be simpler and “just worked”. Now I have bloatware startscreen like on a 50$ chinese Android phone (Tidal) while everything I bought Plex for is getting more complicated than before without any noticeable benefits for a user like me.
I switched to Linux after Windows 8, now I will switch back from Plex to Kodi. It might be a little more tinkering, but I can get what I want and don’t feel sold for 30 pieces of silver.
You sure go to bed early !..Well I am assuming you are in DK
Correct, at at the time of posting, it was around 1 at night here, as well as a workday the day after, so
