Google Chromecast TV stutters with HEVC main 10 1080p

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: Google Chromecast TV 10.25.0.2461 (8a225909)

Hello,
I’m having an issue with playback of certain HEVC 265 movies on the above player. I tried the movies on my LG TV Plex player and the movies play without issue. Also, some of he movies have worked flawlessly in the past when using the above player so its as if something has changed. When playing on the above player they slightly studder and just do not play smoothly. I don’t think its a problem with the file as it plays on other players smoothly. Thanks for an help.

I found the issue elsewhere but it doesnt have a resolution

Would be interesting to see if non-chromecast has issues. Once I got rid of chromecast, a lot of studdering problems went away.

Non chromecast played the movies with no issues.

Does anyone know how to get a response rom Plex?

Does your chromecast support HEVC?

Are you direct playing or transcoding (chromecast and TV)?

It does support it. Some of the same types of movies and TV shows play without issue. It direct plays.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with Plex?

How do we get Plex to look at this and fix it? This s a highly inefficient way to get questions answered.

Still having this issue even after the recent update. Any acknowledgement or explanation by PLEX would be appreciated.

Seems to be most common witn RARBG and LAMA releases. But yes, I have the same issue. It plays fine on another player, jut not plex. The video is choppy and unmatchable.

Look at this post from me

HEVC Choppy/Stuttering Playback

I’m really hoping the developers will look at it because its only happening on Chromecast TV

Still Waiting

Anyhing?

I’m not sure why this hasn’t been asked already, but a good start would be for you to provide the XML info (<— click this link to see how to collect it) for one of the affected items. It will show the specifics (codec, bitrate, resolution, colorspace, audio track properties, etc…) of the file.

It might also be interesting to contrast it with an unaffected item.
