I’m trying to understand the different between Google Drive and G Suite. hopefully one of you can explain the different. Google drive prices are much much higher than G suite. google drive price for 10TB is $45. G Suite prices are $26 for unlimited storage! is there a reason these prices are extremely different ? is the like a bandwidth limit on G Suite ? I’m planing on charing my library but I’m confused as hell. Not sure wether i should get G Suite or Google Drive! Unlimited storage seems awesome nut I’m not sure why it’s cheaper than google drive, i feel like there has to ba a different.
G Suite no longer exists (at least not for new users), it’s now called Google Workspace. Workspace is aimed at businesses, schools, enterprises, etc. and the prices are basically per user.
Google Drive is just one of the options of Google Workspace. Officially you will need multiple users to get unlimited storage, and most of the plans have smaller storage quota now. In the old situation Google did not enforce those limits, so even with one user you could get “unlimited” storage. It’s unclear if they will actively start enforcing those limits now, but chances are that they will. (They already are changing their terms for Google Photos, G Suite for education, etc.)
then what would be the option for online storage for a large Plex library ? even google drive largest storage you can buy is only 50TB. What would be the option if you want more storage ?
I don’t think you have many options anymore, at least not at a reasonable price. MEGA has accounts with 16 TB I think.
You could look into something like Backblaze B2, but that’s something like $5 per TB and there are costs for downloading files (and I don’t know if it’s suitable for streaming).
The options for online storage are shrinking, unless you’re willing to pay a high price for it.
Googles Unlimited storage is probably going away.
And even if it isn’t, they’ve already decreased their api and download quotas to the point where a large library will have difficulty streaming (even just scanning a large library in plex can be difficult now with their api limits)
