Long overdue addition to Plex. How it so far has been ignored is not good.
Have 3 Google Home Mini and two normal Google Home’s in the house.
I noticed that Kodi has Google Home integration now
I just wanted to add my voice. I recently purchased the full Plex Pass and changed over all of my Rasberry Pi boxes to RasPlex from Kodi. I’m all in! Then, just this Father’s Day my wife buys me a Google Home. I love it, but … no Plex? Seriously? Even just some kind of basic integration would be so, so welcome. Can I pay more for this? I’d rather not, but this is really something I would like to see and now that Kodi has it, I feel like it should be on the “todo” list. Thanks.
Someone put together a tool that does just this. I’ve never used it but have heard good things.

You can host it yourself or use the version that creator hosts
That just proves it can be done. I would also like this to be officially implemented. So that I don’t have to setup a web server or use the one they have set up. This would also be a great feature for plex pass holders, at least in the short term.
There was alrready a feature request, perhaps it should be merged, or we should vote there?
Just a friendly reminder…TYPING +1 means NOTHING!!! Why can’t people grasp this very simple concept. You must VOTE at the very top of a topic to cast your vote. LIKING the first post is also NOT A VOTE!!! This can’t be more simple, and yet I see suggestions with 3 votes and 50 replies with +1 typed…Again, means NOTHING!!! UGH!!!
27thed, we NEEDthis.
I voted. Would love to see this integrated.
Just got a Google Home Mini… it’s incredible what that little device can do. I agree with everyone here, integration with Plex certainly has my vote (wish I could spend all 5 votes on this).
Also hoping for this.
Please add Google Home integration, please.
Well perhaps not everyone has time on their hands (especially non frequent forums users) to research Plex latest whims.
Perhaps before talking down to people bear in mind that LIKING the first post WAS the way to vote for a feature request for many many years.
So the fact that all that changed way way back in… oh last month actually…
So maybe leave the condescending approach out of your well intended post.
@ChefGS I think some of those might be old posts before the voting system was implemented in June. LIKING the first post used to be the way to vote for it.
Problem is that the Phlex tool is buggy and requires a high skill set to install. It is not working for all clients. My Roku running Plex does not like Phlex it crashes when you go to start a show. WE NEED a true Direct Link from Google Home --> PMS. I used Alexa for 30 days and the Plex Skill was amazing! (however the rest of Alexa has much to desire.)
We need to drum up votes and lots of them. Please share this link on your social media (facebook etc…) to get as many Plex users voting. Cut and paste the address in the address bar above.
This would make using the Nvidia Shield even easier. +1
Well, had you paid attention to what I wrote, I wrote: TYPING +1. NOT actually clicking the LIKE button. This was one of the very first things, years ago even before I joined the forum, that I read on several forum posts where people kept typing replies that said simply: +1 this idea. The main topic had like 10 clicked likes…but 30 or 40 posts SAYING +1.
Thus I stand by my post… TYPING +1 does NOTHING!! And it has NEVER done anything. But thanks for thinking you actually read my post and then talking down to me about talking down to others… I never once talked down to anyone…I am trying to make sure people comprehend the simple fact that unless you CLICK ON the like button on the main topic (now a simple click on the VOTE button) that your message saying you +1 an idea…is absolutely meaningless to the designers.
If you don’t understand this…I can re-type it as I would say it to my preschoolers that I work with.
Think you did that earlier in the thread and that’s the point. But whatever. 38 posts with or without +1 prior to this. Yet 85 votes. So your theory holds…not.
Whatever you say… My THEORY is a quote from the PLEX admins. So apparently they are the idiots here…I simply reposted it because so many people apparently can’t read or comprehend a simple instruction.
