Google TV music casting playback not working after ambient mode starts

Music playback in ambient mode on Google TV stops after a few songs. Playback works until ambient mode starts.

In Plexamp and Plex app when casting music to Google TV, music playback will start and eventually stop after ambient mode starts. Usually stops in less than 10 minutes

This Happens when the song changes, Plexamp on Android phone and Google TV appear to show the song playing as well as the Plex server console but no sound

The entire song will play without sound and then playback will stop completely, still displaying the last song

Chromecast is still connected and I can start it over again.

Problem exists on Chromecast TV HD and Onn box 4K with Google TV and occurs on multiple systems.

Playback works fine on 3rd generation Chromecast as it has no ambient mode.

Casting also works fine on Nest speakers

The Plex android TV and Fire tv client will play back music without stopping.

I can cast to Google TV using the Symfonium app with Plex as a source and not have this issue.

This could be a real issue with Plex planning to remove music from its client app.

Any help resolving this would be appreciated.

I have the exact same issue - it is infuriating because the way i like to listen to my music server is through the sound system connected to my TV. But why should I bother when the playback stops after 10 minutes? I even tried downgrading the Plexamp app or trying to install it directly on the TV, nothing works.

Problem still exists for me. New Hisense with Google TV has the same issue. It used to work, showed the album cover and song title in the lower left corner and would play all day.
Once Plex removes music from its main app playing music through Google TV will no longer be possible.
