Google TV - The server is not powerful enough to convert video

Hello. I am using a

  • Synology DS218j running DSM 7.0-41882
  • I have Google TV running the Plex app (V 8.19.2.26377)
  • The Plex media server version is 1.21.0-3744 (running on the Synology)

Never had problem running movie files from the Synology through Google TV App.
I upgraded the DSM on the Synology and now I get
‘The server is not powerful enough to convert video’

Films are listed on plex not a problem, I can view them from the Plex Web portal. Not from the Google TV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DSM 7.0-41890 is the released (non-beta) version. Consider updating your system.

If DSM does not show an update is available (Control Panel → Update & Restore), open a case with Synology support. They will provide a link to download -41890 (I had to do this with my DS414).

1.21.0 is from December. Consider updating to a current release (announcement thread).

Hi Trumpy81, Although not the most powerful NAS, it has proved to work quite well as a plex server for my film library.
I upgraded my Plex server version on the NAS and now my files are playing, without the need to transcode, or like you suggested reformat files.
