(gr)Avatars for home users not working

I have setup my users with (gr)avatars.
For some reason, the avatar is NOT displayed on the logon screen, only when a user is logged in, plex shows the image in the upper right

i.e.:
select user, check: test.plessers has NO avatar

Loged on as test.plessers

HI Bart,
can you tell me how you config gravatar?
My home users have only a name, not an email, while gravatar asks for an email.
I don’t understand how you set it up.
tnx

You can invite normal plex.tv accounts (which do have an email address) into a Plex Home.

@bart.plessers Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Try the private browsing mode of your browser as a test to see if that corrects it, if you went to that page before you setup the gravatar it could be that it cached the original image that was used and didn’t update to use the new one.

Looks like at least one it working, so hopefully this will get it sorted out.

It is because in my home i just have my sons added without a plex account.
I thought there was the possibility inside gravatar to set names inside a mail account or something like that.

@Nights0ng : yep. Tested with different browsers, different machines, private browsing, …
Strange thing is that “after a while”, the gravatar is recognized, i.e.

As you can see, my testuser has an avatar now. So I did something yesterday where the image display was triggerred. Don’t know what however…

I’ve found option to use gravatar long time ago, not I can’t find it. Could you please point me in right direction?

It’s automatic. You don’t need to do anything but make sure that your profile is viewable at gravatar.

As long as you are signed up to gravatar with the same email address as you are using for your plex.tv account - it is automatic.

No. Since ‘managed users’ don’t have an email address connected with their Plex user account, they can’t use Gravatar.
(Or more precisely, they don’t have a Plex account at all. They piggyback on the Plex account of the server admin.)

Isn’t it about time we have the ability to add our own avatars without Gravitar?
Seems pretty basic, but highly desired.

Exactly.
