I have a Plex Premium account, with access to a friend’s Plex movie library content.
I just setup a children’s managed profile in my plex main account, so that I can give them access to a subset of adequate library movie folders from my friend’s shared library access.
The children’s profile does not have a dedicated email address, and is just referenced locally within my plex account as by their profile name. In spite of my best efforts, I seem to be unable to grant them access to a specific subset of my friend’s remote plex library folders. I have nowhere to grant them access to that remote library folder and subfolders therein.
Would anyone be so kind to clarify how can I achieve this, so that I can reduce the risk of having my children watching inadequate movies from our Plex App single home profile?

Managed users are an account-specific profile, and can only view media directly owned by the server account itself. They are unable to view any media shared to the server account itself, nor can they be invited individually to another server.
Your only option may be to create a whole new account for your child, invite them into your Plex Home sharing only the content you want them to see from your server. This child’s account will then need to be invited to your friend’s server, who gets to decide which content to share to your child.
Once setup, this will look very similar to a Managed User child account like you currently have. Your child can even log into your account with your email/password, then “swap” over to the child account without logging in, just like you do now with the managed user child account.
This option means that any watched movies will not be remembered (its a brand new account after all), so if you have a lot of view history this may be difficult to set up just like before.
Keep in mind any regular account will have access to all of our free streaming content as well, regardless of any restrictions you put on for access to things from your server or your friend puts on the account from your friend’s server.
You may add your vote to the according feature request. Not long anymore and it will celebrate its 10th birthday.
