Recording from Live TV with a SiliconDust HDHomeRun
When I play a recorded HD programme (recorded from an HD Channel in 1080p) I get intermittent flashes of green and black at irregular intervals throughout the programme, usually as the camera shot changes.
The flashes always occur in exactly the same places in the recording.
The flashes only happen when Direct Played on the Samsung TV app.
If I force the programme to transcode (turn off Direct Play and Direct Stream, or lower resolution) it’s fine.
If I optimise the recording, it’s fine.
Playback on a laptop in the Plex Desktop App is fine.
The source video file played on VLC is fine.
Checking the dashboard during playback, the bandwidth, CPU and RAM are all comfortably low.
I’m perplexed!
Any ideas?
