Grid Update

That why you failed get to what I refer in my original response as I never said analog TV just analog
Part 1: “everything that is recorded started out as analog” As in Hollywood or you or joe blow down street shooting the show or movie started as Analog.
Part 2: “still is display as analog” What you see on the Monitor or TV Screen that is display as analog same to what you hear come of the spk.

But you responded to a conversation about analog TV so any mention of analog is going to be taken in that context. Going back and re-reading it, I still take it that wa.

I still disagree with what you are saying. Not everything these days is recorded on film (analog) as more and more content is recorded digitally. You can’t assume it starts as analog these days. Not to mention that almost all personal content is recorded as digital these days.
At least half the movies 5+ years old I’ve watched (again) the last week were all shot digitally:
Apocalypto (2006)
Gravity (2013)
Upstream Color (2013)
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
The Hobbit Trilogy (2012-2014)
Collateral (2004)
Skyfall (2012)
Avatar (2009)
Life of Pi (2012)
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
These were all digital from start to finish and no part for me is analog. The last film mentioned above is really old (1999) as far as being digital but is unique as it was actually shot on RCA Hi-8 Camcorder.

Not sure what part 2 means. but I bet if you walked into 100 homes you would be hard pressed to find an analog TV is use. I’ve got 2 consoles in the basement I’ve kept in case I want to re purpose the wood cabinets but they haven’t been used in 10+ years. I personally don’t know anyone with only an SD TV these days let along analog (also SD).

@shspvr I see, so it’s because of my custom EPG xml…? All the provided built-in EPG’s have numbers instead of names?
That what it look like to me my guest is they setup as four number or characters long only like reg STB are setup.

Love the grid view, but why is Primetime jumping to 5pm instead of 8pm? I’m in the north american eastern time zone. Late night is 10pm, which I would gather should be 11pm. The rest of the time of day options seems reasonable.

I could be wrong but I though Primetime was always started on 7:PM to 10:PM where I’m at as min show start at 7:PM my guest that forgot factor in something as look like it 2 hours early

Man you really don’t get the BIG Picture here do you.
All the films with those characters are real life people living in analog world just like you and me which may have done behind a green screen with CGI add on top that, So in reality those digitally recording start out life as analog then convert to digitally format, Even Cartoon and so on still have some kind analog after all the voice come from real live people there not some sympathize sound.
Analog is the Color Spectrum of Light as in what you and I seeing and Sound Wave as in what you and I hearing

I have a bug to confirm and another to report. I have an HDHomeRun Prime with Comcast cable. I am experiencing the same issue as the other person on this forum who is getting SD channels showing up in the “HD Channels only” guide.

Here is the other problem. Whenever I click on an HD channel to watch a show, Plex will go to the corresponding SD channel instead. For example, I want to watch something on ESPN HD, channel 850. I click on it and it tunes to channel 009, ESPN - SD. This happens for every HD show, so I cannot watch anything in HD in Plex Web.

Browser is Safari 11.1.1

I’m seeing the same 2 issues with hdhomerun prime and FiOS on Chrome

I tried using Firefox with the same results.

This leads me to a related question - is this forum the place to report bugs? Or is there a bug tracker we should be submitting to?

There is no bug tracking system for the public other than posting to the forums here.

Out of curiosity: why? What’s missing or different from what you need? Thanks!

For instance, a way to re-order the channels in the grid view so that the ones most likely to be interesting is at the top.

At one time I was looking for a TV for my mum, and came across a Samsung TV that didn’t have this feature (would ONLY list the channels in the order provided by the cable provider). Guess which TV (and brand) was immediately put at the very bottom of my list (ANY list) for the remainder of time…

@sLumpy It looks like that both on Firefox and Chrome.

Works fine for me on Chrome

Whether this is grid related or something else, see the attached. I specifically tell Plex to record Chicago Tonight only at 10PM, only on 11.2. Yet it wants to record Chicago Tonight at 7PM on 11.1???

Please recall, the regular search for Chicago Tonight does not even recognize there is a 10PM showing, only the grid does.

And after exiting Chrome and coming back in, the time changed to 10PM… Argh.

I hope you all will add the option to custom the columns and rows

+1. And thanks for the grid view!

I’m liking the new grid view… however, here in the UK the filtering HD channels doesn’t work properly as stated above. It displays both the SD channel and the HD versions and some stations are missing, however I do get ITV HD which someone didn’t get above!!!

This has already been mentioned and picked up to be fixed

Thanks for getting grid view up and running. : ) - I can now safely suggest Plex as the ultimate cord cutting program.

Super strange. I have this logo:

I refreshed the guide too. I selected ‘Freeview’ when setting this all up.

I guess it depends on the region it has > @Afullmark said:

I guess it depends what region got picked up from your postcode and they are using the same logo for both SD and HD for Granada?

Also having this only tuning to SD channels using homerun prime, FIOS and Chrome

Love the grid - great work plex. I am using the Windows Client, but I prefer to use the TV mode with my remote. It does not look like I can use the grid in TV Mode. What am I missing?
