Grid Update

I notice the doubling or even tripling of episodes seems to occur when the guide is refreshed while the web client is active. When I logged out of the web client, logged back in – the doubling issue disappeared. I’ll try refreshing the guide again and see if that adds in ghost episodes.

Confirmed. Refreshing the guide while the web client is running, “doubles” a show

Your original response was to analog TV not the eye or brain. I haven’t seen or used an “analog” TV in many years. Much of what is recorded these days starts as digital vs film. It’s stored digital, transmitted digital, broadcast OTA as digital vs analog these days, etc.

But yea, the end result might be “analog” in the sense of using our eyes, ears and brains. I’ll give you that one. LOL

That why you failed get to what I refer in my original response as I never said analog TV just analog
Part 1: “everything that is recorded started out as analog” As in Hollywood or you or joe blow down street shooting the show or movie started as Analog.
Part 2: “still is display as analog” What you see on the Monitor or TV Screen that is display as analog same to what you hear come of the spk.

@Octavean,

Thanks for the reports. I have passed them off to engineering.

More kind of quick jumps (similar to “now”, for example: primetime) - to lookup what will be on TV at a certain time

You can do this one already. Click on “Today”, then select a day, and then you will see “Primetime” and others.

This only works on future dates. Can’t select morning, afternoon, prime time, etc… For current day.

I’m not a big of this I perf select any show and then arrow up and down and left or right with page up and down and continuous scroll in to next day and so on that just my two cent about it the rest is fine.
But there are some option I like to see add to the guide which I think will be most beneficial to every one
Mark a Show or Movie as Watched and guide view status that show this
NEW need a more brighter color
Perhaps some category color schemes to help brake up it some guide solid color
For most part a BIG THUMBS UP to the Plex Crew
Have ability the to manuel add channel logo to those channel that don’t have them
I hope you get the what I’m refer to kinoCharlino

@shspvr, I do get what you are saying and appreciate your feedback. I’ve logged it for the team to review.

@kinoCharlino the grid is very nice and allows me to record a show time that doesn’t show up in the previous views, or even search. I’ll outline it here just for posterity, and if there’s any time to dig into it, something is being overlooked.

Again this is Chicago Tonight, 10PM showing, Mon-Thursday.

Here is the grid, shows the 10PM episode:

here is the search result, no 10PM episodes.

Note the 10PM show USED to show up in the results, only hasn’t for the past couple months.

Thanks

First: Great to have the grid view finally!!
I was wondering if it’s only with me that the channel names and logos don’t line up properly..?

Thanks

@Wespe12 What browser are you using?

@WillsonHaw It looks like that both on Firefox and Chrome.

LoL it easy to see why some logo are in banner style channel name doesn’t help matter when should be a channel number

For whatever reason, it seems like the first column was coded to each fit the enclosed content. For me the first column has the channel number, always the same size (3 digits long). For you, for some reason, it has the channel name, which can vary in length. This looks like an easy fix for Plex though…

@shspvr I see, so it’s because of my custom EPG xml…? All the provided built-in EPG’s have numbers instead of names?

Love the grid view, but why is Primetime jumping to 5pm instead of 8pm? I’m in the north american eastern time zone. Late night is 10pm, which I would gather should be 11pm. The rest of the time of day options seems reasonable.

Another item would be to show which programs are actually meeting the criteria to be recorded. When you have a series recording it displays the series record icon regardless if it will be recorded or not, i.e. the series is set to record new airing only, and the icon shows on reruns. Perhaps show the icon in red for when it will be recorded and in grey when it will not, so we still see when the program is configured for a series recording.

I just received a notification that this was now working, and I must say, it works great, but…

Grid view = awesome
Only working in web app = useless

Who uses the web app? I have TV’s and shield boxes, apple TV’s…

For me the web app is admin stuff, not for the household to use, I hope they release some Plex player updates soon, as I would like to simplify things.

Loving the grid view, the implementation looks great.

I’ve noticed that my scheduled recordings are not showing up in the guide with the record icon, is anyone else having this issue? It’s not a big deal, but after reading other posts in here it appears that they should be showing with the recording icon.

@Kung-Foo-Kamel - Plex is slow about many things. It took almost 2 years to get any grid at all.
Be happy we even have it on Web.

I have Roku’s for all my TVs.
They don’t even have recording control yet.
I like the grid, but I’d much rather be able to set up recordings on my Roku than have to find my mobile devices (tiny screens) or computer (total other side/floor of house) to set up recordings.

Be patient, they all will eventually catch up, in a few years.

I have a bug to confirm and another to report. I have an HDHomeRun Prime with Comcast cable. I am experiencing the same issue as the other person on this forum who is getting SD channels showing up in the “HD Channels only” guide.

Here is the other problem. Whenever I click on an HD channel to watch a show, Plex will go to the corresponding SD channel instead. For example, I want to watch something on ESPN HD, channel 850. I click on it and it tunes to channel 009, ESPN - SD. This happens for every HD show, so I cannot watch anything in HD in Plex Web.
