Guide data was wrong: how to rerecord same episode?

I have had several guide issues where it is usually the correct show, but wrong episode information. I am recording new and reruns of some shows and noticed at least 1 that was not the episode that the guide data/library data says it is. How can I get plex to record that same episode next time it airs in the hopes it is correct? Or will it do this automatically when it detects that episode to no longer exist in the library?

Exactly. If you schedule a TV Show to record all “New and Repeat Airings”, Plex will check your library to see if the season/episode already exists in your library. If it does, then it will not record it again. This lets you “fill in the blanks” of shows where you might have most of the episodes but not all of them. You can schedule the TV show to record all the episodes but only the missing ones will actually show up in the recording calendar.

I had a show get partially recorded last night. I have most set to not record partial episodes but I must have missed this one. I had to restart the plex jail and when it came back it started recording this episode.

I deleted it so it would record another showing a few hours later, I love Science/History/Discovery channels for doing it that way…however, it would not record the episode.

I played around for a while but it still had the yellow warning sign on the episode. I changed record new to record new and rerun and then back again and it seemed as if it was going to record it as it added it back. However, it did not record.

Is there a way to force it to record an episode? How can I refresh the recording schedule to realize that it was not actually recorded?

I was able to find another airing of this recently new episode. By changing it to new and rerun, this is now scheduled, but so are a dozen other episodes I don’t want. Hmm…if plex wouldn’t have crashed on me last night, I wouldn’t have this problem. Oh well, still ironing out the kinks I am sure.
