Missing a lot of recordings

I have the latest version of plex running on my NAS. For several weeks now I’ve notice my new shows missing from the library. When I check the DVR schedule, they are not there. I can see the red icon in the guide showing a new episode. If I click on it, it knows it’s scheduled since it’s asking me if I want to cancel recording. Today at 9 High Potential was supposed to record. It didn’t. If I select it and tell it to record now, nothing happens. It just won’t record. But if I pick another show that I’m not interested in recording, it will record it. Not sure why this is happening. I have a lot of shows that should record between 8pm-11pm that used to work. Now none of them are recording.

It was a repeat. If you want it to record you need to set it to “new and repeats”.

Plex will consider all subsequent airings of a same-named programme item as repeats.

This is true unless the EPG has information in it which makes each program event unique. For instance by defining it as a series episode, and attaching an episode number or episode date to it.
Unfortunately, not all recurring shows are marked in this way in the EPG.

To record them anyway, the above mentioned workaround is necessary.
