Guide is missing channels

I have a Plex install with 2 HDhomerun tuners. I have an Extend for OTA and I have a Prime for Cable. Several channel guides are missing for several channels. There are channels on OTA with no guide and which are not on the local cable. There are channels on the local Cable with no guide and which are not on OTA. So there is no way to find one guide with all channels (either cable or OTA).

So far, Plex Pass isn’t worth purchasing with current functionality for my area (Eastern KY). It would be better if the there was not individual guides for individual providers (Time Warner - Digital & OTA). I need two guides, one for each tuners -OR- one big guide containing all possibilities for the area and I’ll pick which listing to use…

How do we fix this poorly functioning guide issues??

Example - GRIT TV which is on both the cable and OTA is not listed in either guide but shows up on the HDhomerun guide…

GRIT is 13.4 for the area… a 2nd example is COMET TV (11.3) is in the OTA guide but not in the Time-Warner (D) Guide…

We are in the Huntington, WV / Ashland, KY / Portsmouth, OH Television Area

zip is 41139

My configuration is:

Model Name: Mac mini
Model Identifier: Macmini6,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 16 GB
2 - Internal 1T disk drives
2 - External (USB 3.0) 4T disk drives

I’ve checked with the TV team.

It appears Gracenote (the backend for most schedule providers) doesn’t have those channels listed.

The only recourse is for you to contact your cable provider and determine what’s happening.

SilconDust’s HDHomeRun Tuner software provides a guide for GRIT TV (13.4 in the Huntington,WV area), so why doesn’t your software do the same???

There is no need to double post. It won’t get you answered any more quickly.

Plex supports more than just the HDHR, so they use a 3rd party company as described previously.
Besides covering more than just one brand of device, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gracenote may cover more nations than the HDHR tuners do, which again, allows for more than just one tuner vendor.

Please see ChuckPa’s previous post for a link on how to report missing data.
