Hey everyone. couldn’t find any post on this, so here I go.
My first Plex Media Server was on my PC (way way back), got a Synology NAS, set a Plex server there, have had both running smoothly for over a year; since then I’ve been mostly (if only) using the Plex Media Server on the Synology. I decided to uninstall the server on the PC.
My devices (iPhone, IPad) can access no problem (are on my NAS server by default I suppose), but my Samsung smart TV and http://app.plex.tv are still looking for the server on the PC, and no way to over-ride and select the running server on the NAS.
OK, well… I’ve found the solution. To whoever this might interest.
1/ on the PC, I couldn’t access http://app.plex.tv/, but I tried in stealth mode (private browsing?) and it worked, went directly to t he only available server I have running (ie. on my Synology NAS). I’ll probably have to delete the browsing cache.
2/ on the Samsung smart TV: I deleted the Plex app, downloaded it again, linked the app using Link | Plex and Plex launched on the correct (and now only) server.
