Half stuck migration (Unraid -> Linux)

Server Version#: 1.25.5.5492
Player Version#:
I am midway through a server migration at the moment and am working on moving PMS from Unraid to Ubuntu since my Ubuntu box has stronger hardware that’s more suited for application needs. The end-goal is to keep the media files on the Unraid box and have PMS pulling whatever it needs over a 10G link and handle transcoding on the Ubuntu box.

I have (I think) managed to transfer over meta data correctly, and after far too many cups of coffee my mount points are correctly showing up in Ubuntu. The latest version of Docker is installed and PMS is running, but when I pull it up in the browser it starts the standard first setup procedure, and after I sign in everything links directly to my old install like the new install is just a different access point to the existing server.

I’m not sure where I went wrong, but I’d appreciate some insight if anyone could chip in.

Thanks ahead of time.

Usually when you see the first setup part, it is because the preference file was empty. You should check to see if you migrated over the preferences.

I have finally had a chance to get back to this. The prefrences file is present and since both systems are linux (please correct me if I’m wrong) it’s stored as an XML in Library->Application Support->Plex Media Server. I did pull over an additional copy to replace what was already there and it’s still showing the same issue. Despite all of this, I’m still ending up with the same issue, if I shut down the container on the original machine any outstanding streams die and access to any of my media is removed.
