Handle Mixed Track Numbers

Plex currently fails to handle mixed track numbers containing both letters and numbers. These are used in many collections to indicate the A side and B side of a 45 or LP. Mixed format Track numbers should be sorted alphanumerically.

Example:

01
02
03
04A
04B
05

Instead, Plex IGNORES the track number if it contains any letters, treating it as a zero.

I think this is a big ask considering all digital music platforms services and apps all showcase tracks in numerical order. Neither Itunes, Zune, or even Windows Media Player, accepted tracks in the way you are requesting. The only way to have done so is to include SIDE A in the track title.

Additionally A and B side is no longer something that lives in the digital library world. If you ever taken a look at Spotify or Apple Music, loads of LP and EP records are displayed numerically now without the need for A and B side notation. You’re wanting something that is nostalgic but for the use case of Plex, I’m sorry but you’re wanting to add more unnecessary complexity.

This is NO vote from me.
