Changing the tag changes the hash.Ah, understood. I guess you’d have to have 2 different data storages then - one for your use and one for torrenting.
Or convince ‘the scene’ that using vinyl track numbering is rubbish, as it falls foul of many players out there. The track number meta tag officially only supports ‘number’ content.
LOL, yeah, I’m sure that will happen. There’s just a number of problems, the vinyl numbering is just one. I’ll probably just use hard links or symlinks. Not ideal but easy. Bootlegs, live concerts, and special versions are another if they aren’t tagged. If I tag them, I can’t share them or hard link. Hopefully most of it is already tagged. I’m sure that would be standard but I’m not sure as it has been a long time since I’ve touched attempted to sort my music collection. Internal tagging is great but that’s the biggest draw back. Maybe I’ll look to see if there is some sort of external tagging that can be done, like an nfo file or something. I think ultimately it’s just going to have to be a painful case by case basis, much harder than my movie and TV libraries. I may look into a separate program to manage audio, although I don’t know if any would be better than Plex. It’s really just an issue with the scene and tagging itself.
