it’s an old problem, but I think it should solved in the future.
Some 1080p Videos are hanging if I’m playing with the new player. If I’m using the old player the same videos are playing fine.
The Error : Your Server is too slow to play this video.
Before some years the problem was bigger because each 1080p video had this problem. Now most of my content is playing fine. But there are still 1080p tv shows and movies which have this problem.
What is the difference between old and new player?
I have i7 with 4 kernel and 32 MBit RAM. My network has 100MBit. I’m only playing videos which are in my network. Internet streaming I doesn’t using.
I don’t think my computer is too slow. If this problem happens the CPU is running on 10%. And If I’m using the ipad for streaming there is no problem. Only apple tv is the problem. The apple tv is connecting with cable (not WLAN).
Any ideas what I can do? I wish to use the new player for all videos.
Today had the same problem with the old player and the new player plays the movie without problems.
And then the new player was stuttering with a sd movie and the old player plays the same movie fine.
Happily one of both player works. I had no case where both player had this problem.
This problem is annoying me. I checked with the dashboard the bandwidth of the used network. In the hanging 1080p movie it always uses 100 MBit. My network has only 100 MBit. But why does it use so many. Netflix and co is streaming with 25 Mbit a 4K movie.
Other 1080p videos have not the problem (but they are also using nearly 100 MBit but not so often).
If I play the same problem Video on the ipad, there are no problems. Only playing with the apple TV 4K has the problem. But if I play the movie with infuse on apple tv there is also no problem.
Remember, the problem only happens with the new player, the old player plays the video fine (but then there are other videos which have a problem and for this videos I have to switch to the new player).
I hope you can solve this problem in the near future? How is the progress for the problem solving?
Today I had the problem even with a SD Movie. I repeat: A SD Movie?
Old player works. New Player works not.
You should solve this problem. Why does the server uses a bandwidth of 120 MBit for playing a SD Movie? The old player uses 80-100 MBit for this movie. It’s also too much. But there is no stuttering or message, that the server too slow is.
Server too slow? What? I can play some 4K movies without problems on the new player. And for a SD Movie the server is too slow? No, there is definitely a bug. This only happens with the apple TV and plex.
