Hard Knocks (2001) is not pulling any metadata for seasons 17-23 (possibly earlier too, those are the only seasons I have tried) when set to TVDB Airing order. It will pull metadata from TMDB, but because TMDB has split the spin-offs into separate shows, TMDB only goes through season 19. In the plex agent all of the TMDB series of Hard Knocks and the TVDB series all are consolidated into one entry. So the TVDB order is the only way to include the 4 seasons that TMDB split into separate series, but it won’t import the metadata from TVDB.
Having same issue and can confirm it doesn’t work for any other the earlier seasons like 1-6 either.
Matches when I switch to TVDB as the agent but then I have the warning about needing to upgrade the library and switch to the plex agent that does not work…
I opened a ticket at TVDb to get this cleaned up. Someone had also added hard knocks in season as a separate show on TVDb and it looks like plex was matching that as the main hard knocks series so only pulling metadata for the first 4 seasons. They deleted the two duplicate series (someone also added the Bears season as a separate series) so hopefully its now just a matter of the updates making there way down to the plex database.
Also the newly released season of Hardknocks In Season with the AFC North is not in the grouping and my scanner picks it up as season 01 instead of season 24 which is what I have my folder structure labeled.
Plex… maybe let us use thetvdb as an agent without the legacy warning all the time. This would actually be the solution to an issue like this … we have no configuration options with the Plex agent anymore, and it’s clearly reliant on an incorrect source. This still isn’t fixed.
Bumping this again in the hopes of getting TVDB episode ordering added back for this show. There is only 1 TVDB series and it is already linked in the Plex Series agent, so it should be a simple fix.
Periodic bump. The TVDB series is the only one that even has all the episodes as an option since TMDB has it split into 3 shows that Plex merged back into 1. Just give us the TVDB episode ordering option.
