Hardware for Plex Media Server and storage of media

I am using Plex Media Server through my Desktop Computer, but am looking for a way to have an external piece of hardware to run Plex Media Server from.

I have no idea if that hardware even exists, but the idea is to have an external piece of hardware to play media files from. Either through Chromecast or an HDMI cable?

What is such a piece of hardware called and can anyone provide links to examples?

You could get a raspberry pi or a NAS. I’m not really sure what other type of thing you were thinking of.
