Plex needs to make a small box that you plug a usb hdd and tv tuner in and just connect media in the server and go don’t want to run a big pc just for plex. I have a nib ras pi but I think plex box would be better already set up.
Are you thinking something along the lines of a Boxee Box? I’m a bit confused because you mention both connecting to a server, and also hooking up a HDD to a box and not wanting to run a “big pc just for plex”.
I want a box with plex server in it, like the nvidia, and netgear night hawk, but with just a plex server small like a raspberry pi but ready to go. All you need to do in plug in your external drive with your media link it on the server and plug in your tv tuner. low cost like a pi

That’s a hard proposition because as soon as you’ll require transcoding you’ll run into issues… Even direct streaming some files or transcoding some audio formats might be too much for such a low power device.
I wouldn’t even try with something lower than an Nvidia Shield… And for 200$, it’s a pretty great low cost solution for a Media server if you ask me.
