Hardware transcoding does not work when HDR to SDR remapping is enabled

Server Version#: 1.25.3.5409-f11334058
Player Version#: 1.39.1.2763-300bb607

Configuration:
processor - i3-10105
motherboard - H510M-A
operating system version - Ubuntu Server 21.10.

Installed the system, then installed the following packages:
intel-media-va-driver-non-free, libmfx1, libva-drm2, vainfo,
intel-gmmlib_22.0.0_amd64, intel-igc-core_1.0.9933_amd64, intel-igc-opencl_1.0.9933_amd64,
intel-opencl-icd_22.02.22151_amd64, intel-level-zero-gpu_1.2.22151_amd64,
ocl-icd-libopencl1, beignet-opencl-icd

Then installed the latest version of the PMS.

Transcoding does not work properly.
When you enable HDR to SDR remapping, hardware transcoding is not enabled, only software transcoding.

Tried all possible options, nothing works.

Installing Ubuntu Server version 20.04 LTS fails, because when installing it, a black screen. Installing in ‘nomodeset’ bootloader mode solves the installation problem, but I can’t start the system, because the screen is black again.

I’m asking for help!

Thanks!

Don’t use Ubuntu 21.x

More and more people are reporting it does not work.

Install 20.04.3 LTS and you will have success.

Be also advised, Ubuntu 21.x will not be supported as soon as 22.04 is released,

I had the same issue on 20.04 last month. Turns out the latest intel compute runtime update broke HDR->SDR hardware transcoding. It needs to be downgraded. See the linked post and thread below.
