Hardware transcoding for Synology Apollolake DSx18+

Hi

I own a ds218+,

plex was not available for this model when I got it.
I installed an apollolake compatible compiled version (PlexMediaServer-1.9.6.4429-23901a099-x86_64) by the community from https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/issues/2945
I then purchased a plex pass and activated hardware accelerated transcoding, CPU usage dropped from 99% to 40% for average 1080p 30mb h264 files.
Everything worked fine except subtitles dropping from times to times.

After upgrading to latest PlexMediaServer-1.10.1.4602-f54242b6b-x86 version, the hardware acceleration button is not available anymore and CPU usage is back to 99% causing pauses in the playback.

After de-installing and re-installing the former 1.9.6 version, the button reappeared and everything worked fine again

Is this issue with apollolake cpu based Synology NASes going to be fixed ? is there anything that can be done with later versions (1.10xxx) ?

Would you please reload 1.10.1 and repeat your failure with hardware transcoding then capture the logs?

There should be no different in its availability because the hardware configuration files have not changed.

Oddly the Synology package center updated me with 32bits version although the DS218+ is 64bits-based
solved for new
