DS920+. Specifically on above version due to the reports of transcoding issues with later version. Used to use the Docker method, now just use the Synology package downloaded from Plex.
Family member who uses a Roku remotely (set to try to play original quality) tried to watch some stuff. Anything that direct plays works fine. Whenever it wants to transcode (even though set to original quality, good bandwidth, and subtitles off - must be a codec thing), it gets stuck at 13% (same percentage no matter which file, but only those that try to transcode) and then crashes “playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors.” That’s my next issue to solve. But first…
Plex activity page shows the CPU jumps to nearly 100% from trying to transcode. This caused me to test on Android Plex client (above version). Play original, fine. Force transcode in playback settings, CPU goes up to close to 100% and the activity screen does not say HW used for transcode.
I of course have Plex Pass and hardware transcoding set to enabled. Please let me know optimal way to provide logs privately.
