Just setup an Intel NUC to use as Plex server, it has QuickSync enabled.
It’s an i5-8259 running the latest Windows10 and Intel GPU drivers(not UWD, has not been released for the Iris Plus 655 yet…).
When trying to hardware transcode, it will work but the next time i try to play a video it says no hardware decode accelerator found. Has anybody any tips how to make it “stick”?
When not working:
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - Stopping transcode session plexapp-android
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - Starting a transcode session plexapp-android at offset 0.0 (state=3)
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - TPU: hardware transcoding: enabled, but no hardware decode accelerator found
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - [Universal] Using local file path instead of URL:
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - TPU: hardware transcoding: zero-copy support not present
Nov 29, 2018 13:14:04.479 [9648] DEBUG - TPU: hardware transcoding: final decoder: , final encoder:
Waiting or just untick/tick the “use hw acceleration” option will have it transcoding using GPU again.
Noticed these though:
Nov 29, 2018 13:37:49.043 [9376] ERROR - [Transcoder] [h264_qsv @ 05305480] Error during encoding: device failed (-17)
Seems Intel driver related?
Googling it reveals a defect in FFMPEG that got fixed about 2 months ago. Seems it didn’t make it to the propriatery plex transcoder yet?
