Recently new live TV recordings when I go to watch the show instead of it listing all 10 episodes this season there’s just one show shows up. An example is tonight’s Blue bloods show I have season 12 but the show for tonight shows up all by itself and it says season 2022. See attached picture. Magnum PI did the same thing tonight the episode showed up on a page all by itself.
I just noticed both the Blue bloods and Magnum PI episodes came up as season 5 episode 5 even though that’s not correct.
It’s been happening quite a bit lately. Wondering if something changed at the data provider or something changed and one of the latest server updates. I’ll probably have to go straighten it out somehow but I’m not certain if it’s just going to happen over and over again with every new recording.
No it has not changed. It’s possible the individual data for a show has changed. From your image, it looks like the episode number is missing and instead is showing the aired date. For episodes that don’t have the SxEy information, Plex will store them as a date based episode. i.e. episode number is the date and the season is the year.
Yes I think you’re right. For some reason Plex didn’t find the episode data in the recording. Even though it found the show name because of the DVR schedule I guess. And it was May 5th so both programs saved as season 5 episode 5 must have got that from the date also like session 2022.
It is work so good for so long I was just wondering why all the sudden the change. I’ll just reboot everything including the tuners.
Are you using Plex’s DVR feature? Using Plex’s guide, the episode should get saved exactly (either in episode format or date format) as shown in the guide. Double check the guide and see how it is shown there.
If you are using another DVR and saving those to a regular Plex library, your server will try to match the episode with metadata. That episode on Plex’s end is in SxEy format so seeing a date would not match. Check the filename being used. If your DVR saves it with the aired date, these may not match properly to the SxEy format.
I just recently had a similar issue. I had a scheduled recording of The Goldbergs (2013) and then it never recorded. I went and looked for the next episode and clicked record on it and it comes up with the The Goldbergs (1949) data for it. something has changed.
I don’t think anything about the data provider changed unless you change something in your DVR settings. I rebooted my tuners and everything’s working normally again.
But I think the actual issue I had was bad weather. It interfered with the antenna signal and when the signal gets intermittent the recording ends early without data.
